The Congress has finally short-listed names of four aspirants for the Jubilee Hills constituency by-election. TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud himself took this list to Delhi on Sunday evening. Although eight aspirants contested from here, the state leadership selected four of them after sifting through internal surveys and social mobilization conducted by the party.

The responsibility of selecting the candidate from among them was entrusted to the party high command. The TPCC has brought three names each of the aspirants from the three ministers who were in-charge of the Jubilee Hills constituency by-elections, Ponnam Prabhakar, Tummala Nageswara Rao and Vivek Venkataswamy.

State in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Hyderabad district in-charge minister Ponnam Prabhakar met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Sunday morning to discuss the lists they submitted. Later, the list of four names was finalized.

As many leaders from here showed enthusiasm to contest, the party state leadership finally recommended three names. Among them were Naveen Kumar Yadav, Bonthu Rammohan and CN Reddy, while former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav insisted and he was also included as the fourth name, according to party sources.

Meanwhile, the party leadership has already given a signal to the party leaders that the party will select a local leader in the Jubilee Hills constituency. It is known that former MP Anjan Kumar Yadav expressed his anger at in-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar after he announced that tickets would be given only to local people.

After the meeting with CM Revanth Reddy, they met with Meenakshi Natarajan again at Praja Bhavan and discussed the matter with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, PCC Chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Tummala Nageswara Rao and Vivek Venkata Swamy. 22 observers appointed for Jubilee Hills constituency also attended this meeting.

They also discussed the by-elections and local body elections. TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud explained that the district ministers, MPs and MLAs have been instructed to recommend ZPTC candidates as the nomination process will begin from the 9th. On this occasion, Mahesh Goud and Meenakshi suggested that the election campaign should be party and ideology-centric rather than individual-centric. They clarified that the high command will decide the candidate based on surveys.
