Though the Press Academy, Press Club and numerous journalist organizations are silent over Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s `indecent and insulting’ comments on journalists, Munugodu Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy expressed his anger.
He strongly refuted Revanth Reddy’s comments that some people are coming under the guise of journalism and those who cannot even earn a single penny are posing as journalists. He advised that the rulers should only respect but not insult social media, which is working with social responsibility for the people.
Moreover, he appreciated that social media has been working to the best of its ability since the beginning in line with the aspirations of Telangana society. He made it clear that he will always support social media journalists who work with commitment.
At the same time, Rajagopal Reddy lamented the mainstream media for trying to distance themselves from social media journalists, saying that it is a form of divide and rule. He warned that Telangana society will not tolerate such cunning schemes.
It may be recalled that Revanth Reddy, who has been repeatedly targeting journalists who write and broadcast news against him, recently made controversial comments saying that he feels like taking it to another level and breaking his cheek.
Participating in the 10th anniversary meeting of a newspaper held in Hyderabad on Friday, he said that now the meaning of the word journalists has to be found.
He was angry that even those who cannot spell are passing themselves off as journalists.
He said that whoever falls in the name of social media and digital media is coming, and that real journalists should be on one side and masked journalists on the other. He reminded that some YouTube journalists were also revealed to be Pakistani agents during Operation Sindhur.
Revanth Reddy accused that those who roam the roads, those who are cursed at, those who say whatever they want, are using obscene language against everyone on social media under the guise of being journalists.
