Senior Congress leader Jagga Reddy made startling remarks about the costs associated with securing political positions. Speaking to the media today, he stated, “To secure a General (MLA) seat in Sangareddy, one must spend around ₹50 crores. For an MLA seat in Patancheru, the cost rises to ₹100 crores. Similarly, securing an MP seat requires an expenditure ranging from ₹50 crores to ₹100 crores. Politics is no longer influenced by caste; it now revolves around money. Caste and religion are secondary—what matters now is spending money to become an MLA or MP.”

Jagga Reddy also commented on the competition for the PCC President position, noting that several leaders vied for the role. He mentioned that BC leader Mahesh Kumar Goud was appointed to an AICC position and expressed hope that as PCC President, Goud would unite everyone. He highlighted that Mahesh Kumar was given the position to emphasize the importance of BCs. Reddy, who also aspired to be the PCC President, affirmed his determination to achieve this role eventually. He emphasized his satisfaction with being part of the Congress party and remarked that, given its size, anyone could aspire to be the PCC President.
