As Revanth Reddy government initiation of bulldozer justice by HYDRA has been resulting in severe resentment from people and a vicious campaign is going on against the Congress government in the social media, besides, opposition parties protests, the Congress high-command took it seriously and warned Chief Minister.
Particularly, Congress senior leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi became angry as when Congress is fighting against `bulldozer justice’ in BJP ruled states, Revanth Reddy taking up such a drive makes the party defensive in poll going states. On the instructions of Rahul Gandhi, party general secretary KC Venugopal summoned Revanth Reddy to Delhi and cautioned him against his unilateral moves.
Congress sources said that he was given a severe warning to immediately stop the HYDRA and the demolitions and reprimanded for not taking the advice of party seniors in this regard. Senior Congress leaders in the state have already complained to the leadership about Revanth’s behaviour.
According to party sources, Venugopal gently reprimanded him by saying, “With your actions, even in the states where elections are held, opposition to the Congress party will increase. Your self-interest will cause serious problems for the party. The Congress party is not yours alone. Your actions will have a severe impact on the Congress across the country.”
On the other hand, it is known that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed his anger on the ministers who questioned him about the demolition of the houses of the poor in the name of HYDRA without discussion with them. Moreover, it is reported that a disdainful voice was heard saying, ‘Should I tell everything to the high-command?’
It is learned that the ministers here have verbally attacked the CM. Why this hydra? If the people are already angry that the six guarantees are not being implemented, now do the party and the government want these demolitions?, they asked. Even they went to the extent of accusing him that “because of you alone, the Congress party is being called the party of demolitions all over the country”.
In the cabinet meeting held on September 20, a minister from North Telangana stood up and asked why HYDRA? Why these demolitions? Will GHMC elections be held soon and any sane person will start demolishing the houses of the poor? He expressed his grief that the Congress, which is known as the party that gives houses to the poor, is now demolishing the houses of the same poor. “We are not in a position to provide Indiramma houses to the poor, but to demolish existing houses”, he lamented.
