It is learnt that the Congress high command has become alert after receiving mixed signals that the survival of the government may be in danger if decisions are taken on the composition of the cabinet.

According to the suggestions and reports of the senior leader, the high command, which was planning to remove two ministers and reshuffle the cabinet by changing the portfolios of some ministers, backed down after a reported threat given by a leader from South Telangana.

It is learnt that the decision has been taken to appease the aspirants by filling only four of the six vacant posts and leaving two more vacant, without moving the old cabinet. 30 people are competing for the six vacant posts in the cabinet. High command envoy Meenakshi Natarajan came to Telangana and stayed here for 20 days to review the situation.

Later, as per the instructions received from her, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, CM Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy went to Delhi and discussed the composition with the high command. It is learnt that the CM and TPCC President together submitted a list of four, Bhatti and Uttam each submitted a list to the high command.

Party sources said that the list given by the CM included the names of Sudarshan Reddy, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy and Gaddam Vivek. It is learnt that Uttam’s list includes the names of his wife Padmavati, Vakiti Srihari, Adluri Laxman, Donthi Madhav Reddy, Premsagar Rao and Gaddam Vinod.

There is a campaign that Sitaka will be promoted as the Home Minister and the STs will be given only one berth. Banjara Tribal Power and Banjara Student Unions have taken up agitation on this. Lambada Tribal Unions, which have been protesting across the state, went to Delhi on Friday and submitted a memorandum to Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi.

It is reported that a minister from South Telangana, who is angry that he came to power with his money and that the top leader is moving his pawns without his presence, has sent an ultimatum to the party, saying that he will see how it reorganizes.

On the other hand, with Sudarshan Reddy’s name coming to the fore, Narsampet MLA and senior Congress leader Donthi Madhav Reddy went to Delhi. He met AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and state affairs in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan to offer him a ministerial berth.

Some more MLAs are heading to Delhi to meet the Congress high command. The problem of composition in those districts.. Leaders from Rangareddy, Hyderabad and Nizamabad districts did not get a place in the cabinet. At least one person each from these three districts should be given a chance.
