As the shortage of urea in the state worsens and farmers are struggling, the Congress and BJP leaders are busy in political buses. Even as farmers stand in queues for kilometers at agro centers for fertilizers since dawn, without any food, both the Congress and BJP governments are playing dirty dramas and putting the interests of farmers at risk.
Even though the farmers are facing severe difficulties due to not receiving urea, the leaders of the two parties are blaming each other and diverting the real issue. The BJP government at the Center, forgetting its responsibility to send urea, and the Congress government in the state, forgetting its responsibility to bring it, are making farmers wait.
Since the Congress government came to power in the state, it has not only not provided adequate water for agriculture, but also has been harassing farmers by not bringing urea. It is trying to hide behind the pretext that the Center is not sending urea. On the other hand, the BJP is beating the drum that there is no shortage of urea anywhere in the country.
BJP is accusing Congress leaders in Telangana of becoming middlemen and creating an artificial shortage. The two governments are jointly blaming each other and drowning the food grains. The party leaders are throwing dirt on each other for politics, putting aside the interests of farmers.
Recently, BJP state president Ramachandra Rao and Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao have been criticizing each other over the urea shortage. Ramachandra Rao questioned that there is no shortage of urea in any state in the country, so why is there a shortage in Telangana. He claims that the Center has given more urea than last year.
Rao said that there is a need to investigate the artificial shortage of urea. He accused Congress leaders of becoming middlemen and creating a shortage of urea. He was angry that the Congress was betraying the farmers. He was angry that the Congress is blocking urea after coming to power and running a business.
Ramachandra Rao challenged Tummala to come to the discussion if he dared, saying that he had given Telangana a sufficient quota. He claims to have complete calculations and evidence in this regard. But, when the state government released the actual stocks provided by the center showing its failure of timely supply, the BJP leaders became silent.
