Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to prepare plans for the establishment of state-of-the-art cow shelters in the state. He has suggested appointing a committee for this purpose. He has asked officials to finalize the designs for the cow shelter to be set up in Mkepalli, Moinabad mandal, Rangareddy district, within four to five days.
The Chief Minister has drawn attention to the uproar after the death of heifers in the Tippapur cow shelter of the Sri Rajarajeswara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada, Sircilla district. The officials take care of the heifers offered by devotees to Vemulawada Rajanna in the form of offerings. News has come that eight heifers have died in three days.
The death of the heifer and the political color of the situation have also raised concerns among the government. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has conducted a review of the management of cow shelters across the state. He clarified that a committee should study the establishment of cow shelters and prepare a complete plan within the deadline.
In the first phase, it was suggested that cowsheds should be set up in the lands of veterinary and agricultural universities, colleges and temples. It was made clear that cows should not be confined in narrow places, but shelters should be built with state-of-the-art facilities so that they can roam freely.
It was said that available lands should be identified for the establishment of cowsheds and steps should be taken to ensure that there are cowsheds of at least 50 acres. It was said that a complete budget estimate should be prepared for the construction, maintenance and care of cowsheds.
The Chief Minister suggested that the issue of involving charitable organizations in the management of cowsheds should be examined. He examined the designs related to the cowshed to be set up in Enkepalli, Moinabad mandal and suggested various changes in the construction of sheds and other designs.
Officers of various departments Seshadri, Srinivasa Raju, Manik Raj, Ajith Reddy, Savyasachi Ghosh, Sarfaraz Ahmed, B. Gopi, and Narayana Reddy participated.
