CM Revanth Reddy seeks A New Education Policy To Improve Education system In Telangana

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the State Education Commission to prepare a new policy to improve the education system in the state. He clarified that the policy should be feasible according to the field conditions. He said that the education policy should increase the standards of living.

The CM said that he will not hesitate to promote a better education system at any cost. The CM discussed the shortcomings in the education system and the reforms to be undertaken with the Education Commission, Education Department officials and experts at the Command Control Office in Banjara Hills.

In this meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that the state government is giving priority to education. He said that if primary education is strengthened, students will be able to excel in higher education.

The CM suggested that a better policy should be formulated by discussing with intellectuals and experts on the changes to be brought about at the Anganwadis and primary school levels. He wanted to take suggestions to make the state a leader in the education system by utilizing resources properly.

Education Commission Chairman Akunuri Murali explained the policies followed in other countries and states through a powerpoint presentation. Foundation for Democratic Reforms General Secretary Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan gave several suggestions on examination policy, teaching standards and school inspections.

Advisors Vem Narender Reddy, Kesava Rao, Srinivasa Raju, senior officials Manik Raj, Vemula Srinivasulu, Yogita Rana, Narasimha Reddy, Education Commission members Professor P.L. Vishwaswar Rao, Charakonda Venkatesh, K. Jyotsna Shiva Reddy and representatives of several NGOs participated in the review.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy told the Vice Chancellors that universities should give priority to courses that are in demand in the market. He discussed the problems in the universities of the state with the vice-chancellors. The CM suggested that non-priority courses should be canceled and new ones introduced.

The professors of the canceled departments should be given administrative responsibilities. The Chief Minister made it clear that universities should not be turned into rehabilitation centers for professors. The CM said that teaching in universities should provide a future for rural poor and middle class students.
