Monday, December 8, 2025

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has revealed that the report of the Justin PC Ghosh Commission on the Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages in the Kaleshwaram project will be introduced in the Telangana Assembly soon.

Speaking with the media after the cabinet meeting, he said that the views of all parties will be taken on the Justice Ghosh Commission report and the final decision on the report will be taken only after the discussion in the Assembly.

The CM said that future action will be taken according to the summary of the discussions in the Assembly and that the government will strictly follow the suggestions and recommendations in the Justice Ghosh Commission report.

CM Revanth revealed that the commission had clearly stated that the Kaleshwaram project, which was built on the basis of corruption by changing the village name and estimates, had collapsed. He said that public representatives, ISS, engineering experts, and experts from construction companies had given an analytical report regarding the project.

He clarified that this report was not given by political parties. He stated that they had put full details before the media that they did not intend to create any bias or personal hatred against anyone. He alleged that KCR changed the Pranahita-Chevella project in the name of redesign. He said that projects have been constructed in Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla.

He said that the project was undertaken to lift water from Sripada Yellampally and provide irrigation water, and the work started in 2015-16 was completed in 2018-19 by the previous government. He alleged that Medigadda sank within three years of its construction, i.e. in 2023, and cracks appeared in the Annaram and Sundilla barrages.

CM Revanth said that technical experts and NDSA had identified that the projects were in danger, and that they had investigated and found that there were planning, construction and management errors. He recalled that KCR had given reports when he was the CM that a full-scale investigation should be conducted.

He recalled that ministers Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam and Sridhar Babu had undertaken tours of the projects on behalf of the opposition party at that time. He said that he had identified faulty decisions, corruption, irregularities and negligent attitude and expressed anger that Kaleshwaram, which was built at a cost of lakhs of crores of rupees, had collapsed.

Revanth Reddy called that the commission spoke to the then CM KCR, Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and Finance Minister Etela Rajender. He said that the commission also spoke to IAS, engineers, construction companies and public associations. He said that Justice PC Ghosh’s commission had analyzed everyone’s opinions and submitted a 660-page report. He said that a committee with three officials had been formed on the commission’s report.
