CM Revanth Reddy orders Vigilance probe Into HCA’s Harassment of Sun Risers

Friday, April 4, 2025

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed his anger over the allegations that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) officials are harassing the management of Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH) for free passes of matches. The fact that the SRH are expressing their impatience and even threatening to leave their home ground, Uppal Stadium, due to this harassment has become a topic of discussion everywhere.

The SRH management has made sensational allegations that HCA president Jaganmohan Rao is harassing them severely for passes. In this regard, SRH General Manager (Sports) TB Srinath has written a scathing letter to HCA treasurer CJ Srinivas Rao. He made it clear that they will not tolerate such behavior.

SRH said that the HCA has caused serious problems to its staff for the last two seasons, and even after bringing the matter to the attention of the HCA, no solution has been found. It alleged that the HCA’s behavior seems to be aimed at preventing them from playing in this stadium. If this is true, Srinath warned that they will discuss with the BCCI, the Telangana government and their management, leave Hyderabad and look for a new venue.

He said that they have been working with the HCA for the last 12 years and have been facing these problems and harassment only since the last season. The cricket fans are worried after the news that the Sun Risers team is leaving Hyderabad.

“As per the agreement, we are allocating 10 percent (3900) complimentary tickets to HCA during the match at Uppal Stadium. We are also giving F12A corporate box tickets with a capacity of 50 seats. But, this year, they have asked for 20 tickets in another box, stating that its capacity is only 30. Even though we have said that we will talk about this later, they are not listening”, he said.

Expressing anger over these developments, the Chief Minister warned that action will be taken if the SRH management is harassed. The CM, who has already collected details on this issue, has asked Vigilance DG Kothakota Srinivasa Reddy to immediately conduct an inquiry and submit a report. He made it clear that strict action would be taken after the investigation. He said that such actions would not be ignored.
