Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Kishan Reddy of obstructing the implementation of 42% reservation for BCs in Telangana. He alleged that even though they have the power to solve the problem, they are obstructing it.
CM Revanth Reddy performed the Bhoomi Pooja and laid the foundation stone for the installation of the statue of Sardar Sarvai Papannagoud near the Martyrs’ Stupa in Tank Bund. Later, he participated in the 375th birth anniversary program of Papannagoud organized at Ravindra Bharathi.
Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy deplored that the BC reservation bill they sent has not been approved by the President for five months and alleged that Modi and Kishan Reddy are behind this delay. He alleged that those who are constantly obstructing BC reservations are making stupid arguments and stubbornness.
Revanth Reddy objected that the previous BRS government had made a law that did not provide more than 50 percent reservations in Telangana, stating that if SCs and STs are included along with BCs, the reservations would reach 70 percent. He recalled that the law made by the previous government had become an obstacle for us and that protests had been held at Jantar Mantar for BC reservations.
He was angry that even educated people and those working as Union ministers were making a ridiculous argument that reservations were made on the basis of religion. He said that reservations on the basis of religion were not in the law, and if they did so, the Supreme Court would strike it down within two minutes.
The CM expressed his anger that reservations for the masses were being blocked under the guise of religion. Can Modi remove BC reservations for Muslims in Gujarat?, he asked. He asserted that there are BC reservations for Muslims and backward classes in the state and that they are trying to do injustice to the masses under the guise of Muslims.
Revanth Reddy said that if there is anger against Rahul Gandhi, they should show it against him, adding that many cases have already been filed against him and if necessary, four more should be filed. But, he requested the Center not to damage the ideology that Rahul believes in.
