Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has assured that the government is ready to help the families of those who died in the floods and the farmers whose crops were damaged.
He instructed the Chief Secretary over the phone to prepare complete reports regarding the compensation. Along with Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, he conducted an aerial survey to personally inspect the situation of heavy rains and floods in Telangana.
After the aerial survey, he visited the Yellampalli project and inspected the flood flow. He advised all departments to be alert so that the people do not face any problems. The CM held a review meeting on the flood situation at the Medak District SP office with the District Collector, SP and senior officials. He made it clear to the officials that the threat of floods has not gone away yet.
He ordered that relief measures be taken from time to time in the affected areas. He advised the officials to immediately assess the crop damage and submit a report. He said that the roads should be repaired on a war footing and transport facilities should be restored. MP Raghunandan Rao has requested CM Revanth Reddy to sanction a new substation to replace the submerged substation in Medak town Pillikottal.
He requested that the road from Medak to Kamareddy be converted into four lanes and that the Ramayampet hostel building, which was submerged yesterday, be constructed at another location. While responding positively to this, Revanth Reddy requested Raghunandan Rao to bring disaster funds from the center.
Revanth Reddy said that the Sripada Yellampalli project is our lifeblood and it is very crucial in terms of Godavari waters. He explained that the Yellampalli project was built in a very strategic area. He said that there is a big difference between the collapsed project and the standing projects.
Yellampalli was built at the place suggested by engineering experts, and that is why the project built by experts has stood for decades. Revanth Reddy said that they will move forward with the suggestions of the technical committee in the Medigadda case.
