In a key announcement at the Telangana Assembly, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy put to rest all the controversies surrounding the Telangana Mother Statue and its relevance to the state’s emotional connection. He called for political unity on December 9th, the day when Telangana was born, appealing to all parties to come together and set aside their differences for the unveiling of the statue. He extended a personal invitation to Chief Minister KCR, central ministers and all political leaders cutting across the spectrum saying that the statue is the hope and emotion of four crore Telangana people.

As the winter session of the Assembly began, Revanth reflected on the significance of the day, recalling Sonia Gandhi’s birthday and Chidambaram’s role in the formation of Telangana. He addressed the concerns regarding the statue, describing it as a symbol of the state’s rich cultural heritage, reflecting the pride and spirit of the people of Telangana.

The Telangana Mother Statue features several key symbolic elements, each representing the state’s deep-rooted values. At the base of the statue, the Godavari and Krishna rivers are artistically depicted in shades of blue, symbolizing the lifeblood of the state. The figure of Telangana Mother herself extends her right hand in a gesture of blessing, while her left hand holds corn and rice, signifying the state’s strong agricultural foundation.

Revanth also pointed out that while the statue has not yet been officially recognized, it stands as a powerful representation of Telangana’s identity and history. He emphasized that the state still lacks an official anthem, but the pedestal and design of the statue were carefully crafted to honor the state’s past struggles and achievements. The statue will be unveiled later today at the Secretariat, and Revanth called for the participation of KCR, central ministers, and other political leaders.

Recognizing the contributions of those who fought for the formation of Telangana, Revanth declared that the birth anniversary of Telangana Mother would be commemorated every year on December 9th. He also clarified that the statue was not the property of any individual or family, but instead represents the collective identity of all the people of Telangana.

Standing at an impressive 20 feet, the Telangana Mother Statue is a powerful symbol of the state’s agricultural legacy and cultural pride. The statue’s intricate design features a hand of blessing holding crops and a green saree with a golden edge, showcasing the state’s deep connection to its roots. The statue will be unveiled officially at the Secretariat later today, marking a momentous occasion for the people of Telangana.
