Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has asked the central government to provide assistance for various projects being undertaken by the state government. He reached Delhi on Monday night after concluding his foreign tour and met several central ministers on Tuesday.
Home Minister Amit Shah, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil, Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and others were among those who met the CM. It is learnt that Chandrababu agreed to allocate the only Rajya Sabha seat in the state for which the election schedule has been released to the BJP in the meeting with Amit Shah.
It is known that the election for this seat is being held after Vijayasai Reddy, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha on behalf of YSRCP, resigned. It is learnt that the BJP leadership is considering one or two names from other states to contest from this seat.
It is learnt that the latest political situation in the state, the arrests of opposition leaders, the Prime Minister’s visit scheduled for the second day and other issues also came up for discussion in the meeting with Amit Shah. CM Chandrababu Naidu appealed for the central government’s support to complete the construction of the capital in Amaravati at the earliest.
Chandrababu Naidu also explained to him about the massive liquor scam that took place during Jagan’s tenure. He reportedly said that the Delhi liquor scam was very small in comparison and that the illegal income generated from it was diverted in many ways.
In a meeting with the Union Jal Shakti Minister, the CM sought assistance for the Polavaram- Banakacharla Link Project. The Central Atal Bhujal Yojana program was discussed. It is learnt that issues like Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, PMKSY-CADWM, and river interlinking were also discussed between the two leaders.
In a meeting with Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, the problems prevailing in the aqua sector in the state in the wake of US tariffs were discussed. He requested that the aqua farmers should discuss this matter with the US and ensure that it does not cause any loss.
The CM met Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and discussed the issue of the High Court bench in Kurnool with him. He appealed to him to cooperate in implementing the necessary activities for the establishment of the bench. Union Ministers Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and TDP MPs participated in these meetings.
