Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu assured that no farmer should worry about the supply of fertilizers in the state. He clarified that there are more reserves than the demand. He directed that strict action to be taken against the black market for fertilizers. He warned that strict action will be taken if urea is black marketed.
CM Chandrababu conducted a review on the availability of fertilizers, horticultural crops and marketing department. Officials explained that this time more than 2 lakh metric tons of fertilizers have arrived in the state. He said that this time 91 thousand metric tons of urea have arrived in addition to the previous year.
Officials told the Chief Minister that DAP has arrived at 51,700 metric tons, which is 16 thousand metric tons more than last year. He explained that complex fertilizers have also arrived at 2.72 lakh metric tons in the current year. He said that this is 1.20 lakh metric tons more than last year.
The Chief Minister was angry that despite the availability of fertilizers in the state, some people are deliberately spreading misinformation. It was also suggested that urea consumption should be calculated through the Integrated Fertilizer Management System.
CM Chandrababu directed the officials to ensure that horticultural crops get support prices according to the cultivation costs of the respective crops. He said that immediate action should be taken against the newly introduced pests in coffee plantations. The officials told the CM that the newly introduced coffee crop is 20 acres and needs to be removed.
The CM issued orders to remove the infected crop after paying compensation so that the pests do not spread to other areas. Agriculture Minister Atchannaidu, CS K. Vijayanand, and senior officials of the Agriculture and Marketing Department participated in this review.
Meanwhile, the central government has provided 53,000 metric tons of urea in addition to the current allocations. This urea has reached Kakinada, Gangavaram and Krishnapatnam ports through ships. Officials clarified that the government is working to ensure that the fertilizers and urea stocks provided by the center reach the farmers on time in coordination with Markfed.
