CM Chandrababu says Delhi Liquor scam was very small compared To Jagan’s Liquor sales scam

Sunday, April 6, 2025

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that the Delhi liquor scam was very small compared to the huge scam in the name of liquor sales in AP during YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime. He warned that strict action will be taken against those who were involved in heinous crimes like land grabbing, marijuana, drugs, and illegal supply of girls during the previous government.

Chandrababu said that he has asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah to approve the two bills prepared for this purpose. He explained that he has asked for the Andhra Pradesh Land Grabbing Provision Bill to be approved as soon as possible and the bill for the control of drugs and marijuana to be approved.

On Wednesday, he met Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Nitin Gadkari in Delhi and discussed various issues. Speaking to the media on this occasion, he said that the people of AP are completely on the side of the alliance. He said that the vote bank in the MLC elections of the graduates has increased from 60 to 67.5 percent.

He made it clear that the experiments of the Jagan government in AP and the Kejriwal government in Delhi have failed. Leaders should learn lessons from this. “We discussed the Polavaram-Bana Kacharla linkage with the Finance Minister. The Vamsadhara, Nagavali, Godavari, Krishna and Penna rivers should be linked”, he said.

Chandrababu asserted that the linking of rivers will benefit the drought-prone Rayalaseema region and the idea is to use the water that goes to the sea in vain for the Polavaram project. The goal is to complete the Polavaram project by 2027. If it is linked to Banakacharla, it will become a gateway to Rayalaseema, he added.

The Chief Minister pointed out that nearly 2,000 TMCs are being wasted into the sea every year. “We want to use the water that goes to the sea. The rivers from Ganga to Kaveri should be linked. Drinking water to every household in the cities through the Jal Jeevan Mission. We also discussed the financial problems of AP with the Finance Minister”, he said.

This year, he said that they will spend Rs. 5000 crores for Polavaram and will work to complete the Polavaram project in the next two years.  ‘We discussed national highways with Union Minister Gadkari. Amaravati Outer Ring Road is to be constructed for 189 km. Due to the rush of devotees in Srisailam, traffic problems are often arising. He assured about the expansion of Srisailam roads and elevated roads”, he added.

“We discussed Vinukonda-Amaravati, Visakhapatnam roads. Tenders will be called after the DPRs for the roads are completed. We discussed the Machilipatnam Expressway from Hyderabad”, he said.
