Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took a swipe at the YSRCP during the Assembly Budget Sessions, poking fun at their walkout over the opposition status issue. While delivering the motion of thanks for the Governor’s address, he mocked the YSRCP MLAs for their brief and dramatic exit from the Assembly. On the first day of the session, YSRCP members protested, claiming they were denied the Leader of Opposition status, and staged a walkout while the Governor was still speaking.
Addressing their actions with sarcasm, Chandrababu Naidu quipped, “In my 41 years of political life, I have never seen a party that attends the Assembly only if given the opposition status. Yesterday was a black day. People elected 11 MLAs, they arrived at 11 AM, and by 11:11 AM, they walked out—staying for barely 11 minutes! And in those 11 minutes, they even managed to disrespect the Speaker.”
Known for his strategic and composed speeches, Chandrababu Naidu seemed invigorated, taking multiple digs at YSRCP. Since the election results, the number 11 has become a symbol of satire, highlighting YSRCP’s diminished political standing. With only 11 MLAs, their constant quest for opposition status has become a joke among TDP alliance ministers and leaders. Now, with Chandrababu also entering the fray, his “11-minute” comment is trending heavily on social media, provoking debates and discussions within political circles.
