Amaravati: In a recent meeting with district collectors, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made significant remarks regarding the diversion of funds by the previous government. He stated that the previous administration had diverted ₹3,183 crore from housing funds, with ₹500 crore specifically misallocated from funds intended for rural housing construction.
CM Chandrababu further alleged that the previous government failed to provide ₹1,603 crore of the required matching grant for house construction. Additionally, he mentioned that the Centre has imposed a ₹28 crore fine due to these irregularities.
Chandrababu also highlighted that in the last five years, ₹8,000 crore in funds from the Centre has not been received. He emphasized that Andhra Pradesh has suffered considerably due to the diversion of funds and the non-payment of the matching grant.
