Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has strongly condemned the objectionable remarks made by YSR Congress Party leader Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy against Kovur MLA Prasanthi Reddy. Calling the comments “repulsive,” the Chief Minister said such statements reflect a deep-rooted disrespect for women and questioned whether those who speak in such a manner could be considered civilised.
“Insulting and demeaning women has become part of YSRCP’s culture. These leaders are openly displaying their regressive mindset. Their abusive words show their complete lack of moral values. The public must recognise and reject this kind of behavior,” Chandrababu said in a statement. He further added that inappropriate conduct towards women will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those responsible.
The remarks were made during a constituency-level YSRCP meeting held on Monday afternoon at a function hall in Padugupadu, Nellore district. During the meeting, Prasanna Kumar Reddy made offensive comments targeting MLA Prasanthi Reddy, claiming he knew her “entire history” and using indecent language. He further stated that senior YSRCP leader Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy had “settled” for her as no one else was available, adding that he would have arranged a “virgin girl” for him had he been asked.
Chandrababu said such statements not only humiliate individual leaders but also insult the dignity of all women. He criticised the YSRCP for continuing with the same mindset despite facing a severe electoral defeat and urged the public to hold such leaders accountable.
