Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is making intensive efforts to bring back `Brand Andhra Pradesh’ image so as to attract fresh investments in key sectors, which were practically stalled during the previous YCP regime.
He started creating efforts among investors by personally interacting with them. On Wednesday he interacted with the representatives of BPCL Chairman and Managing Director Krishna Kumar, who is considering setting up a refinery near Kakinada with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore.
On the other hand, he has also held a lunch meeting with Pham San Chou, CEO of Vietnam’s leading automobile company Winfast, expecting Rs 10,000 crore investment in the state to set up electric vehicles and batteries units.
Chandrababu shared details of his meeting with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). He said that the state on the east coast of the country has significant petrochemical potential. He promised them to provide 5,000 acres of land, required to set up a refinery. But, he sought from them a comprehensive report with a detailed plan on feasibility within 90 days.
BPCL delegation assured Chandrababu that they will present that they will come with a feasibility report by October. He clarified that the Andhra Pradesh government is looking forward to providing facilities in a hassle-free manner. He explained to them that AP is the best destination for entrepreneurs and the state government will provide full cooperation to set up companies.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Chandrababu said that Win Fast CEO has been invited to set up a manufacturing plant for electric vehicles and batteries in the state. He expressed satisfaction over his discussions with Pham San Chou, CEO of Vietnam’s leading automobile company Winfast. He said that positive discussions were held. He directed the Industries Department to examine suitable land for setting up his industry in the state. Chandrababu revealed that he is waiting for a positive cooperation from Winfast.
