A key development has taken place with regard to key YSRCP leader and former MLA Chevireddy Bhaskara Reddy in the sensational AP liquor scam case that took place during the Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime.
The ACB court on Monday issued orders remanding Bhaskara Reddy and Venkatesh Naidu, arrested key accused in the case, to SIT custody for three days. The High Court rejected his son Mohit Reddy’s anticipatory bail petition and SIT detained his two PAs.
Though the SIT requested the ACB court to give them five days of custody, the judge issued orders allowing only three days of custody to interrogate them. With this, the SIT officials will interrogate the two from July 1 to 3. The judge made it clear in the order that they should be interrogated from 8 am to 6.00 pm.
However, the ACB court allowed Bhaskar Reddy to go to the temple in the jail premises for 10 minutes every day. But, the court rejected his request to get out-side food while he was in jail. The ACB court also allowed Chevireddy `mulakhath’ to meet visitors three times a week.
On the other hand, Bhaskara Reddy’s son Chevireddy Mohit Reddy has faced a setback in the High Court in the same liquor scam. The AP High Court rejected his anticipatory bail petition. It is known that Mohit Reddy is A 39 in this liquor scam case.
Meanwhile, the SIT team detained former Bhaskar Reddy’s PAs Balaji and Naveen. There are allegations that Balaji brought Rs 8.20 crore to the AP border from Telangana during the elections. The Election Commission seized this money at that time.
On the other hand, the two fled to Indore fearing that the SIT team would chase them. However, the SIT teams went to Indore based on the location as they were calling YSRCP leaders in AP from Indore. The SIT team detained the two in Indore based on cell phone signals.
Earlier, YCP leaders had filed a habeas corpus petition in the court claiming that Balaji had been arrested by the police. The SIT team had already told the court that they were not in their custody. Since then, the SIT, which has been intensifying its search for Balaji and Naveen, has finally taken them into custody in Indore.
