The Andhra Pradesh state government has framed charges against senior IPS officer and former CID chief PV Sunil Kumar in the complaint given by former MP and presently TDP MLA K Raghuramakrishnam Raju in custodial torture against him during YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime.
To this extent, the Political Secretary of the General Administration Department, S Suresh Kumar, issued an order on Monday. The AP government has issued orders against former CID Chief, Additional DGP, DG Sunil Kumar under the All India Service Rules, 1969.
Responding to the case registered on the basis of Raghuramaraj’s complaint, PV Sunil Kumar questioned the registration of an FIR once again on a case which was dismissed by the Supreme Court as lacking evidence. To this extent, the government has taken his post on social media seriously.
As a result, the government issued a summons against him under the violation of All India Service Rules. He was directed to give an explanation in writing or in person within 15 days. Also, the government has also warned PV Sunil Kumar that there will be serious consequences if any political pressure is brought in the process of answering to the government framed charges.
It has become interesting to see what explanation the government is going to give on his comments on social media. He has already been transferred by the coalition government and has been kept in waiting without even being given a posting. Now, if the charges are found to be true, what action will be taken is exciting.
Meanwhile, TDP MLA Raghurama Krishnamraju filed a complaint at the Nagarampalem Police Station in Guntur against the allegations made by Sunil Kumar through social media (Social Media X).
Raghurama stated in the complaint that Sunil had made objectionable comments against the government on July 12 this year through social media. In this order, the government has decided to take disciplinary action against Sunil.
