Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu warned that the games played by the red sandalwood smugglers in the state will no longer go ahead, if the smugglers enter the forest, it will be their last day. He said that drones will be used for the protection of forests and said that drones will be in the forests before the smugglers.
He participated in the Van Mahotsav arranged at Eco Park at Mangalagiri AIIMS in Guntur district, along with Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Union Minister of State P Chandrasekhar.
Chandrababu suggested that everyone should consider planting oxygen-giving trees as important as taking oxygen. He said that the program of planting crores of saplings should be carried forward as a grand scheme. He said that the real Golden Andhra Pradesh is achieved only with 50 percent greenness as decided by Pawan Kalyan.
Chandrababu Naidu announced that the country’s largest tiger conservation center is going to be developed between Srisailam-Nagarjuna Sagar. He revealed that 32 ecotourism centers are being developed. He deplored that the forest area is gradually decreasing in the state, by which big changes are coming in the environment.
He lamented that rivers, ponds and hills were destroyed during the YSP regime. The CM said that if the students grow a plant, the plant will be named after the student’s mother. He also announced that the environment lovers who plant more saplings will be encouraged by giving awards at mandal and district level. Students who plant more saplings will be awarded on occasions like Independence Day and Republic Day, he added.
Chandrababu said that the eco park area should be developed for tourism. He said that all the students should realize the need for greenery and the greenery should increase to 50 percent in the state. He recalled that many people used to make fun of digging pits. But, he said, more pits are necessary for groundwater to rise.
