Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has warned that he will not leave anyone if he does not work properly during the calamity, including his cabinet colleagues. He made it clear that those who do not work property in disaster management will suffer later.
He said that already an officer who did not perform his duties properly in Jakkampudi was suspended. He deplored complaints that those officers waiting for posting and kept in vacancy reserve, not performing their duties properly in disaster management. He said that he is investigating those complaints.
The Chief Minister also looked into whether delegation of responsibilities to such controversial officials in difficult situations was done with good intention or by mistake? Don’t the officials have the humanity to work no matter what kind of responsibility they are given? He asked.
Chandrababu admitted complaints that the toll free numbers are not working and lamented that the government system has been paralyzed for the last five years. He said that the problem will be resolved immediately by installing a new control room system. Chandrababu said that they are investigating how two boats hit the Prakasam barrage. He warned that a section of media should not lose its reputation by giving false news.
CM Chandrababu asked the officials about the details of the food distribution that took place in the morning. A review was conducted with the officers and superiors on duty through teleconference. Officials told the CM that food distribution is being done by 5 helicopters.
It has been explained that food and water are being provided by helicopters, boats and tractors since morning. Officials told Chandrababu that 5 lakh packets of food and water have been prepared and distributed. Chandrababu ordered the officials to distribute 100 percent of the food.
He said that three meals a day should be provided by helicopters and drones to places where NDRF teams cannot reach. Chandrababu ordered that the officers on duty in 36 divisions should be held responsible for food distribution. Chandrababu made it clear to the officials that necessary arrangements should be made for sanitation works in areas where water is decreasing.
