Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will inspect the Polavaram project on Monday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will announce the work schedule prepared to complete the project. He earlier conducted a review on the present status of Polavaram project works, besides Handri Neeva, as well as irrigation projects and water policies on 3rd of this month.
In this context, the arrangements were inspected by the top officials of Eluru district on Saturday. To this extent, District Collector Vetri Selvi and SP Pratap Shiva Kishore reviewed the arrangements and made appropriate suggestions to the staff of the respective departments.
They explained to the staff about the precautions to be taken to avoid any problems during the visit. The officials organized the CM convoy train run from the helipad to the project work areas to the places where the CM is likely to go. The Collector and SPs said that strong security arrangements have been made in the project areas.
Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu said that it has been decided to release the schedule for the Polavaram project work. He said that the Chief Minister has ordered that the work should be done without any deviation from the schedule. The Minister explained that the Polavaram work is being resumed after a five-year destructive regime.
The Minister said that the CM has instructed to take up the Polavaram work without wasting a single moment. He clarified that the diaphragm wall work will be taken up in January. He said that the Polavaram rehabilitation work will also be taken up soon. He said that the construction of R&R colonies and land acquisition will be resumed.
The Minister said that the inter-state issues will be resolved and Polavaram will be completed on time. Minister Nimmala revealed that Godavari waters will be taken to Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema. He said that the lining and winding work will be started soon to increase the capacity of the Handri Neeva canal to provide irrigation and drinking water to Rayalaseema.
