Chandrababu To Release Three white papers In AP Assembly

Saturday, September 7, 2024

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will release three white papers in the state assembly, which is beginning its monsoon session on Monday. The white papers will be on the  law and order, excise policy, state debt and financial situation during the previous government’s regime. Already he has released four white papers.

The assembly session will begin with the Governor Justice S. Abdul Nazir addressing both Houses. After the adjournment of the House, a meeting of the Legislative Affairs Advisory Committee (BAC) will be held under the chairmanship of Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu. It will decide the draft agenda of the session.

Government sources said that the assembly session will be held for five days, till July 26. The Governor’s speech will be debated on Tuesday. The government will introduce a bill to repeal the Land Titling Act brought by the YSRCP government.  As no decision has been taken on the status of the opposition, it seems that the free seating policy will be continued in these meetings as well.

Although the new budget has to be introduced, the government is preferring to present only Vote on Account for the next three months. Full-pledged buget is likely to be presented in October after receiving complete information on the state’s financial situation, debts, revenue, etc.

It has been decided that visitors will not be allowed in the legislative sessions. Passes will be given only to the officers and staff attending the duties. The galleries were thronged by a large number of visitors during the swearing-in of newly elected legislators. Due to the chaotic situation, the members also suffered.

It is reported that the MLAs have been instructed not to bring visitors to the current meetings. The Legislature media point was restored after 5 years. Broadcasts will be given to electronic media from here.

The TDP legislative party meeting will be held in the afternoon under the chairmanship of CM Chandrababu. Chandrababu will give direction to party ministers, MLAs and MLCs on the strategy to be followed in the assembly session.

Since there is no opposition party, there is a possibility that the TDP members will be entrusted with the responsibilities of raising public issues in the House and finding solutions.
