Even before taking oath as Chief Minister of the state and being busy in settling political issues both at the center and also in the state, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is focusing on the functioning of his government. During his meeting with some senior officials he has been discussing the state of governance in the state and giving them directions for preparing necessary feedback.
On the directions of Naidu, some officials are already working hard to prepare white papers on key issues. It may be recalled that earlier also Chandrababu Naidu released white papers related to various departments after taking oath as Chief Minister.
The first priority is said to be on the financial status of the state. Officials are engaged in preparing actual facts prevailing in the finance department. This white paper will focus on total loan burden of the government, immediate commitments, dues, revenue aspects and expenditure incurred during the period of last five years.
Also focusing on loans taken from various institutes, grants received from the Center, national and international financial institutes like ADB, NABARD, HUDCO and JICA towards various schemes of the state government.
The officials are also expected to prepare another report comparing the financial situation from 2014 to 2019 and then the situation from 2019 to 2024. A comprehensive white paper on irrigation, electricity and other key sectors is also said to be getting ready.
As development of the capital city Amaravati will be given top priority by Chandrababu Naidu government, officials have also started the exercise to prepare a white paper on Amaravati. This will include progress achieved during the previous TDP regime and agreements signed with various foreign organizations at that time and their current status.
Officials say that instructions have already been received to prepare a report with the cost of construction of the capital, the condition of the structures, the changes made, etc.
Chandrababu interacted with a few senior officials on Wednesday. During these meetings only he has reportedly directed to prepare comprehensive reports on prevailing scenarios in various key departments.
