TDP chief and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu during his first official visit to the national capital New Delhi meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other key ministers, is said to have sought a Rs 1 lakh crore financial package to the state ruined by the YCP regime.

Chandrababu, who is not making any political demands before the PM Modi, though his party’s support is crucial for the survival of the NDA government, he conveyed clear message that he is determined to get crucial support from the Center to put the state development, that was derailed by the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime on track.

Though Chandrababu Naidu did not elaborate to the media his list of demands put before the Center, Economic Times revealed that he has sought a financial assistance of 12 billion dollars (Rs 1 lakh crore) from the center. That too, he has insisted that the Center’s commitment should be surfaced in the forthcoming Union Budget, later this month.  This reflects Naidu’s strategic move for a sound fiscal support from the center without raising issue of contentious special category status.

Chandrababu, who met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Thursday, asked for cooperation in various key projects including the construction of Amaravati capital and Plavaram. It is reported that he has requested PM Modi to make allocations to this extent and in turn Prime Minister said to be responded positively.

Chandrababu is said to have discussed his requirements with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also in detail.  It is learned that Chandrababu has asked to allocate Rs.7000 crores to compensate the financial deficit and Rs.50,000 crores for the construction of the new capital Amaravati, of which he sought to allocate Rs 15,000 crore in the next budget.

It is also known that Rs 12,000 crores have been requested to be allocated for the Polavaram project in the current financial year. It is reported that Chandrababu has asked for more support for this project in the future as well.

It is also known that Rs. 15,000 crores have been asked to be given in the next five years to settle the debts. He also asked the Center to allocate Rs 10,000 crores for the development of infrastructure under the 50-year loan scheme of the Central Government.
