Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has strongly refuted objections raised by some sections in Telangana over the proposed Polavaram- Banakacharla waters linking project. He deplored some who are resorting to politics when the AP government is moving to divert water that goes into the sea to drought-stricken areas.

The Chief Minister, who participated in the victory rally of MLCs organized at the TDP central office in Mangalagiri, made key comments on this project. He said that he had never opposed the Kaleshwaram project and welcomed it. The CM said that you should not take water by building projects on Godavari, Godavari alone is the protection of Sri Rama for the Telugu people.

CM Chandrababu Naidu said that Telangana can also divert water to drought-stricken areas by building projects on Godavari. He revealed that Telangana should not worry about the water being diverted to AP, as it has the authority to take surplus water to the last areas.

“I appeal to all Telugu people including those living in Telangana. No one will be harmed by diverting Godavari water to Banakacharla. We are diverting water that goes to the sea in vain. This too is being politicized by a party. Some are saying that if one speaks, they will be left behind. I have never opposed the Kaleshwaram project”, he said.

Moreover, he advised the Telangana government that “Godavari alone is the salvation of the Telugu people. Build projects on Godavari. Godavari water can be diverted to drought-stricken areas in Telangana. If the rivers are linked, the waste water that goes to the sea can be used efficiently”.

The CM said that the victory of the alliance candidates will act as a lifeline for the reconstruction of the state. He criticized the previous government for playing games in the name of three capitals. He said that the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, which was considered impossible, has become possible and the Visakhapatnam Railway Zone has also been completed.

Chandrababu said that whenever elections come, everyone should work together, and when they work together, the results will be unpredictable. The CM clarified that everyone has come together for the reconstruction of the state and there is no vested interest in it.

He said that the three parties worked together in unity and wished that the unity of these three parties should be permanent. He suggested that a tradition of respecting each other should be initiated. CM Chandrababu said that if the three parties are among the people, then no party will have a chance in the future.
