Chandrababu Responds to Jagan-Adani Deal Allegations in Assembly

Today’s Andhra Pradesh Assembly session saw chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu respond to the serious allegations that Gautam Adani, chairman of Adani Power, had bribed the erstwhile Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy government with ₹1,750 crore to get solar power projects. “The government is constantly monitoring the situation and will take appropriate action once solid evidence comes up,” Naidu assured the Assembly. He also stated that Y.S. Sharmila, the PCC Chief, had also expressed similar apprehensions regarding the issue.

According to Naidu, the government is closely scrutinizing the allegations and will continue with relevant courses of action as new facts come to light. He underlined that more revelations are surfacing and the government is cautiously taking its steps. The Chief Minister assured that a close review is being carried out and upon establishing all the facts, prompt actions would be taken.

In his speech, he heavily criticized Jagan Mohan Reddy for allegedly tarnishing the reputation of the state. He pointed out that the allegations were severely marinating the image of Andhra Pradesh. He further said that the government would act fast once some more information is unearthed. Naidu promised that strict measures will be followed if any such wrong-doing is established, and that it will not occur again. He voiced his concern over how all these allegations were adversely affecting the public image of Andhra Pradesh.
