Several Telugu Desam Party leaders seem to be going in favor with increasing demands to install Minister Nara Lokesh as Deputy Chief Minister while the leadership is sternly forbidding its activists from making comments on the development. The leaders of the party said that high command and their political allies will jointly take a leadership decision.
Adding fuel to the raging political debate, Minister TG Bharat’s statement on Thursday sparked quite a commotion. At the “Meet and Greet” event, at Zurich, for gathering Telugu NRIs, confidently in a reference to Nara Lokesh he introduced him as “the future of the Telugu Desam Party” and proclaimed him the “next Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.” In response to such a boast from TG Bharat, said “Whether one may agree or disagree, Nara Lokesh certainly is the next Chief Minister.
The comments did not go well with TDP chief and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who was present at the event along with Lokesh. Naidu reportedly expressed his displeasure, cautioning TG Bharat against making such premature declarations on public platforms. He emphasized the need for careful communication when discussing leadership matters.
During his speech, TG Bharat appreciated Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership and reassured investors about Andhra Pradesh’s bright future under TDP governance. He said he was optimistic that the party would lead the state for many more years, highlighting its commitment to development and progress. While mentioning Nara Lokesh’s educational qualifications, Bharat described him as a “dynamic and young leader,” adding that Lokesh is the only representative from Andhra Pradesh to hold a degree from Stanford University.
Our vision for Andhra Pradesh is clear and focused,” Bharat declared. “The TDP is poised to shape the state’s future. In that journey, Nara Lokesh will come to play a pivotal role. Be it acknowledged or not, Lokesh is the leader of us who would lead us forward as the Chief Minister.
This strong endorsement by TG Bharat has further intensified discussions surrounding Lokesh’s potential rise within the party, while Chandrababu Naidu’s response highlights the careful approach the TDP leadership aims to maintain on such matters.
