In a recent statement, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu strongly criticized the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leadership regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding the Tirupati laddu. He alleged that during the previous government’s tenure, the sacred laddu was adulterated with low-quality ghee, which was available for merely ₹320 per kilo.
Naidu emphasized that the prasadam offered to Sri Venkateswara Swamy utilized inferior ghee, compromising the sanctity of Tirumala. He posed a rhetorical question, “Would anyone offer a naivedyam to God with adulterated ghee?”
Challenging YSRCP leader Jagan’s claims of innocence, Naidu questioned whether the government should reconsider its policies if ghee could be procured at such a low price. He further condemned the use of adulterated ghee in the revered Tirupati laddu, asserting that it has negatively impacted the sentiments of devotees.
These remarks were made during a “Good Governance” event held in Madiralapadu, Prakasam district.
