As the Delhi Assembly elections are approaching, the Delhi political scenario is getting hot. All leading political parties-the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress-having gone high-timey in their campaign are geared for a fierce contest.

Polling will take place on February 5 with the counting of the votes on February 8. Chief Minister Atishi, and the campaigns intensify for the last leg of it all as party leaders try to win over the hearts of voters.

During this election euphoria, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the Telugu Desam Party in the Delhi poll campaign. Naidu, while speaking on his second day of campaigning, said in a press conference that national issues included how India will position itself on the global scene as well as India’s economic future.

He shares his thoughts with the notion that the world is focusing more and more towards India, such as his last experience at Davos, when he found many economists keen on knowing about the Indian economy and progress. Artificial intelligence will have an important place in India’s future, which he believes will bring India on to the globe’s significant platforms. Naidu praised the Union Budget and claims it will build the foundation upon which India stands by 2047. Moreover, Naidu commended tax exemption of as much as ₹12 lakh because, he argues, this shall reduce poverty from the nation’s body.

Naidu further underlined the need to look beyond, claiming that progress can be made only when citizens expand their vision beyond immediate concerns. He further took a direct shot at the AAP government by accusing them of allowing Delhi to become politically polluted and neglecting the growing environmental crisis.

Pointing to the city’s deteriorating water quality, Naidu alleged that Delhi’s drinking water has become as contaminated as sewage. He also criticized the AAP for its failure to clean up the Yamuna River over the past decade, saying the government had done little to address the ongoing pollution. Naidu voiced confidence that only a “double-engine government,” led by the BJP, could effectively tackle these pressing challenges.

In his critique of AAP, Naidu also mocked their leaders’ talk of corruption, especially in light of the ongoing liquor scam, which he described as one of the most destructive forms of corruption. He denounced the so-called “Delhi Model” as a failure and called for a broader national debate on its flaws.

Finally, Naidu reiterated his long-held belief that communism is a thing of the past. He argued that leftist ideologies no longer align with progress and that right-wing policies focused on wealth creation and development are the way forward for India’s future.

This heated exchange comes as the Delhi Assembly elections enter their final stages, with all eyes on the results.
