Putting an end to three- capital confusion created by YS Jaganmohan Reddy, a day ahead of taking oath as Chief Minister of the state, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu declared on Tuesday, that from now onwards Amaravati will be the only capital of Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking after NDA MLAs elected him as Legislature Party leader, he deplored that even after 10 years of bifurcation of the state, Andhra Pradesh was deprived of a capital.’

He assured that he would lead a `constructive’ government, instead of `factional politics’ engineered by the YCP regime. He lamented that the future of the state has been stalled with the concept of three capitals and asserted that only Amaravati will be the capital of the state.

However, he assured that he would do justice to both Visakhapatnam and Kurnool cities. Naidu said that Visakhapatnam will be developed as a `financial city’ of the state, as an important growth center of India. He said Visakhapatnam people have been showing keen interest towards TDP and supporting them always.

The city is also very important for both Jana Sena and BJP also, he said. He recalled that Dr K Haribabu of BJP had won as MP from here in 2014. Besides the YCP wave in 2019, he said the TDP had won four assembly seats in the city. Moreover, he said that Jana Sena also has considerable popularity among people of the city.

In the present elections also, Naidu said that the people of Visakhapatnam rejected YCP even though they promised to make it the capital city of the state and to take oath in this city only. He said that he will not forget the importance of  Kurnool city also and that it will be developed in a great way.

He alleged that when the YCP government announced Kurnool as Judicial Capital nothing was done there. He recalled that people of Rayalaseema also extended one-sided support to the alliance parties. Efforts will be made for the integrated growth of all parts of the state, he added.

Stating that his government will move forward with a concept of ‘People’s First’, Chandrababu said that hereafter there will not be cutting of trees and keeping curtains alongside roads, if Chief Minister vicists. The government will be always accessible to common people, he added.
