Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has admitted that the Visakha Steel Plant issue has emerged as the most completed problem for him and said that he is exploring all the possibilities for the preservation of the Plant.
He said that SAIL and the Center should agree on the merger of the steel plant with SAIL. Moreover, he said that there is no assured raw material either. He said that he has discussed with the Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy stressing the need to stabilize the Plant by taking up whatever possible measures may be.
Stating that the Plant is more associated with emotions and sentiments of Telugu people, he recalled that it was set up with a slogan `Visakha Steel is Right of Andhras’. He made it clear that the tribal university will continue in Salur and there is no intention to shift it.
Speaking to the media on his two-day visit to New Delhi, he congratulated the BJP for achieving a hat-trick in Haryana. CM Chandrababu revealed that the Center has expressed its willingness to develop the state of Andhra Pradesh in all ways.
He said that he explained to Prime Minister Modi the financial condition of the state and the losses incurred in the last 5 years. He thanked for the release of Rs 12,500 crore funds under Phase One for the Polavaram project.
He said that the World Bank has come forward to give Rs.15,000 crores under the first phase for the development of Amaravati, with which roads, buildings and other works will be started from December. He said that they will be completed in a stipulated time.
The Chief Minister said that he explained to the Prime Minister and Union Ministers that they are preparing a document to make the’Vision Andhra 2047’ document to make the state No 1 by 2047.
Alleging that the Visakha Railway Zone was delayed due to YCP government’s non-cooperation without allocation of the land, he said that the foundation stone will be laid in December.
He said that he has asked for four lines from Visakha to Howrah Railway Line. He said that he has requested to establish a bullet train connecting Hyderabad- Amaravati, Amaravati- Chennai and Hyderabad-Chennai.
