The Centre has assigned significant responsibilities to AP BJP Chief and Rajahmundry MP, Purandeswari. She has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians’ Steering Committee, as per an official notification from the Lok Sabha Speaker’s office. Purandeswari will hold this position until 2026. With this new appointment, speculation surrounding her potential role as a Union Minister has been put to rest. Additionally, she has been nominated as India’s regional representative on the Commonwealth Parliamentary Committee.
