A shocking revelation has come to light in the High Court through the CBI-appointed SIT regarding the ghee used in preparing the sacred Tirumala Srivari Laddu, which millions of devotees consume with faith. The investigation confirmed that the ghee supplied to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) under the current YSRCP administration was not authentic.
Though the supply contracts were officially awarded to AR Dairy and Vaishnavi Dairy, the SIT uncovered that Bhole Baba Dairy was the real entity behind this operation. Further probe revealed that Bhole Baba Dairy neither collects milk from farmers nor produces genuine ghee. Farmers corroborated that they never supplied milk to this dairy, exposing a large-scale deception.
The investigation revealed that the so-called ghee was counterfeit—manufactured using palm oil, chemicals, and other adulterants—and supplied to TTD through AR Dairy and Vaishnavi Dairy. Due to supplying substandard and fake ghee, Bhole Baba Dairy has been blacklisted by TTD.
Adding to the controversy, a key witness, Sanjeev Jain, reportedly faced threats and physical assault by petitioners, and was forcibly taken from Tirupati to Chennai, and then back to Delhi against his will.
Following these damning disclosures, a case was registered and arrests were made. The accused have since applied for bail, citing health issues after spending over four months in custody. Their lawyers have argued that with all evidence already in SIT’s possession, their clients should be granted bail under reasonable conditions.
The High Court has postponed the next hearing to June 17.
