The CBI has sought Interpol to issue Red Corner Notices against key accused in the phone tapping case, which is creating stir in Telangana politics. It wants to get former SIB chief Prabhakar Rao and a Telugu news channel MD Shravan Rao, who are avoiding investigation remaining abroad.

Satisfied with all the documents provided by the Hyderabad Police, the CBI has asked Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice against the two accused. Interpol will alert representatives of 196 countries with the notices issued by the CBI. It seems that Prabhakar Rao and Shravan Rao, who were in the USA for the past few months, have left that country.

The officials have found that Shravan Rao is hiding in Belgium and Prabhakar Rao is hiding in Canada. In the wake of the red corner notices from Interpol reaching all countries, the Telangana police are planning to bring the accused to Hyderabad at any moment.

Immediately after Praneeth Rao was arrested in the phone tapping case, former intelligence chief Prabhakar Rao went abroad. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the case concluded that the entire tapping incident took place under Praneeth Rao’s watch, based on Praneeth Rao’s statement.

It added Prabhakar Rao’s name as A1. It also found that he was in the USA. In the meantime, non-bailable warrants and lookout notices have been issued against Prabhakar Rao. However, Prabhakar Rao informed that he is not well and cannot come to Hyderabad right now and will attend the hearing virtually if required.

The police brought the letter sent by Prabhakar Rao to the attention of the Nampally court, which rejected the appeal. It made it clear that he had to appear in person. It made it clear that along with Prabhakar Rao, Sravan Rao, who is A6 in this case, also had to appear. However, the police informed the court that they could not trace Sravan.

Soon after the Congress party came to power, the police registered a phone tapping case. Though the police are keen to get Prabhakar Rao and Sravan Rao, said to be prime accused in this case, they are expecting that their arrest will reveal political connection. The ultimate target of the investigation seems to be to make sure key BRS leaders are also locked up in this case.
