The police have registered a case against YCP MLC Bharat on a complaint that he had sold letters of recommendation to obtain Tirumala Srivari Thomala Seva tickets. TDP leader Chittibabu complained to the police that he had collected Rs 3 lakh from the people of Guntur for Tomala Seva recommendation letters.
As a result, Arundalpet police in Guntur have registered a case against YCP MLC Bharat. A case has also been registered against Bharat PRO Mallikarjuna also.
On the other hand, in the 2024 AP assembly elections, Bharat contested on behalf of YCP against TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu in Kuppam constituency. Bharat lost in this election by more than 48,000 votes. While Chandrababu got 1 lakh 21 thousand 929 votes, YCP candidate Bharat got 73,923 votes.
But with the intention of giving a strong competition to Chandrababu, the then Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy gave full support to Bharat. In 2021, Bharat was made MLC in the quota of local bodies. Bharat’s tenure will continue till December 2027.
YS Jagan has also allocated funds for the development of the Kuppam within five years. YS Jagan, who tried hard to defeat Chandrababu Naidu from Kuppam,also campaigned there extensively. He promised to make Bharat a minister if Kuppam wins the assembly elections.
But the people of Kuppam once again put their faith in Chandrababu Naidu. He won for the eighth time in a row. It can be said that it is embarrassing for Kuppam YCP, which is in despair after losing the election, that a case has been registered against Bharat.
Many YCP leaders have already joined the TDP in Kumpam. Others are preparing to join. While five councilors and 14 MPTCs of Kuppam Municipality have joined TDP, there are reports that some more will join in the coming days. Also, the YCP party office in Kuppam has also been closed. And now the police have also registered a case against Bharat, who is a major supporter of Kuppam YCP.
