Besides romping home with a huge public mandate in the 2019 assembly elections of AP, the biggest victory for the Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government came in the form of the defeat of both Nara Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan in their respective constituencies.
As Nara Lokesh was projected as the heir of Chandra Babu Naidu who will lead the TDP in the coming years and because Pawan Kalyan adopted an aggressive approach to criticize the YSRCP and its leaders, Jagan Mohan Reddy used all arrows in his quiver and ensured that both of them don’t step into the assembly.
While Lokesh faced embarrassment from Alla Ramakrishna Reddy in Mangalagiri, Pawan lost in both Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram by a solid margin. Putting aside these demoralising results, both Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan emerged as strong leaders enduring all criticism and personal vilification by the YSRCP leaders in these four and a half years.
As per reliable reports, Lokesh is determined to contest again from the Mangalagiri seat in the 2024 elections. The spate of resignations by YSRCP leaders in and around Mangalagiri including that of incumbent MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy is a significant blow to Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government.
From being a novice in 2019, Lokesh now transformed into a strong leader with huge public charisma in these four and a half years. He improved a lot in many aspects when compared to the previous elections. His Yuvagalam yatra is drawing massive crowds all over the state.
Considering the huge anti-incumbency and other factors along with the recent setback faced by the YSRCP in the forms of resignations by key leaders, it looks like Lokesh will win with a huge margin from the Mangalagiri segment in 2024.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan also improved his political graph quite phenomenally in the last couple of years. His roadshows are gathering huge response from all quarters. Political experts predict that the vote share of Janasena will see a huge jump in the upcoming assembly elections. Also, Gajuwaka MLA Tippala Nagireddy’s son Tippala Devan Reddy resigned from the YSRCP, which is an unexpected shock to everyone. This will benefit both Pawan Kalyan and his party.
Moreover, the alliance between TDP and JSP will consolidate the vote share between both parties in many constituencies.
All in all, it needs no bigger analysis to assume that both Lokesh and Pawan Kalyan are going to win with a bumper majority in 2024 in both Mangalagiri and Gajuwaka respectively.
