Cabinet panel To visit Districts on 29th, 30th on Revision of District, Revenue Divisions, Mandals Boundaries

The Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed by the AP Government on the renaming of district, revenue division, mandal and village boundaries and the establishment of new ones will visit the combined district centers on the 29th and 30th of this month. It will discuss with the collectors and public representatives there and receive requests from the people.

The members of the Cabinet Sub-Committee will form two teams and hold meetings at one place in the 13 combined district centers, Rampachodavaram and Paderu of Alluri Seetharamaraju district and seven mandals in the Polavaram flood area. In addition, requests will be received in the offices of the collectors until September 2. The ministers will discuss these and submit a report to the government on September 15.

The first meeting of the Cabinet Sub-Committee was held at the State Secretariat on Wednesday. Ministers Angani Satya Prasad, Nadendla Manohar, Anitha, P. Narayana, BC Janardhan Reddy, Nimmala Ramanaidu and Satyakumar Yadav were present.  Revenue Minister Angani Satya Prasad said that people are facing difficulties due to improper division of districts during the previous YSRCP regime.

He said that in some places, the distance from villages to the district headquarters is 150 kilometers. He said that Vedurukuppam mandal, which is close to Tirupati, has been included in Chittoor district. However, he made it clear that some people are demanding changes in constituencies and that it is not possible to change their boundaries.

“A team of ministers will go to each district and receive requests. Requests can also be given to the collectors. We will talk to the public representatives about them and find out their problems. We will complete all this by December 31. We will take requests by September 2. We will submit a report to the government on the 15th”, he added.

The ministers  explained that the entire process of receiving objections and final notification should be completed by December 31 this year. Some of the requests received by the ministerial sub-committee:

1. One of the districts in Guntur, Palnadu and Bapatla should be named after poet Gurram Joshua. Bapatla district headquarters should be established between Chirala and Bapatla. Bapatla district should be named after Duggirala Gopalakrishnaiah.

2. Kothapalli, Billapalli and Madicherla villages of Krishna district should be removed from Bapulapadu mandal and merged into Musunuru/Nuzvid mandals. Vedurukuppam mandal should be removed from Chittoor district and merged into Tirupati district. Murapaka should be made the headquarters of Laveru mandal in Srikakulam district.

3. Social Welfare Minister Dola Sribala Veeranjaneyaswamy has submitted a memorandum to the Cabinet Sub-Committee to form a district with Markapuram as its headquarters.
