Botsa Demand probe Into Forceful Resignations of Vice Chancellors In AP

Saturday, April 12, 2025

Alleging that several University Vice Chancellors were threatened and forced to resign after change of the government, Leader of Opposition in the AP Legislative Council Botsa Satyanarayana demanded a probe into it. According to him as many as 19 Vice Chancellors, out of 21 Universities in the state were forced to resign.

He recalled that one such resigned Vice Chancellor even posted on social media how he was forced to resign. He added that there were allegations that Education Minister Nara Lokesh personally forced Vice Chancellors through the Council of Higher Education, which should be probed in depth.

He alleged that the Governor’s speech on the budget was a directionless one.  The former minister took severe exception that the government resorted to criticism like destroying the state against the previous government by the Governor and also made personal criticisms.

He said that it was strange to talk about Super Ten in 2047 without mentioning the Super Six promises made by the government to the people.  Botsa questioned whether it was like deserting Super Six promises.

He said that they would not pay attention to the comments that their presence during the Governor’s address will not be taken into consideration as attendance. “We did not come to the House for attendance, we only came to the House to bring our rights to the attention of the people through the Governor,” he said.

He said that even if the Speaker calls and asks, we will say the same thing, that ours is a political party, and that we will be ready to do whatever we can on all issues depending on the context and time. Botsa said that the leader takes some decisions on the spot, and if he cannot take them, how will he be a leader?

He said that we know what to do as a YSRCP party, and there is no need to learn if someone tells us. He deplored that Pawan Kalyan is making ignorant comments on the issue of opposition identity, and he has no objection to him being in the opposition.

He said that even if YSRCP gets 40 percent of the votes and Jana Sena gets six percent of the votes, they agree that representation will be based on seats since they have more seats.

He said that it was an insult to the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu that the letter written from the CM’s office to postpone the Group-2 exam was not accepted. He recalled  that the TDP itself said that the APPSC did not accept their letter, and that they were not saying that.
