Causing excitement among TDP cadre in Mylavaram assembly constituency, strong political opponents joined together creating confidence of winning in the polls. Former minister and senior TDP leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, who had earlier represented this constituency, but was defeated by Vasantha Krishna Prasad of YCP in 2019, remained as bitter political opponents for the last five years.
Surprisingly, at the time of poll schedule announcement, Krishna Prasad joined TDP and party chief N Chandrababu Naidu chose him to contest from here. Since then Devineni Umamaheswara Rao remained silent.
However, TDP cadre was surprised when both of them together were seen on Sunday taking oath to defeat YCP with all their might. Till now they were like salt and fire. They have decided to remove differences between them for several years.
Taking initiative, sitting MLA Vasantha Krishnaprasad went to Devineni Uma’s house in Gollapudi, a suburb of Vijayawada, inviting him to attend the nomination program on Monday. On this occasion, the two leaders shook hands and greeted the party cadre with smiles, holding their hands together.
Devineni promised Krishna Prasad he will attend the nomination process and also stand by him in the poll campaign all through. Earlier himself refuted speculations that he will quit TDP protesting against denial of seat for him.
Asserting his commitment for TDP, Devineni said that he had earlier taken party B Form five times and won four times in elections. There may be some conflicts in the party like in a family, he said and also made it clear there will be reconciliation too.
He asserted that he belongs to the Telugu Desam family and will stand by the people of Mylavaram till his death. He said that he and Vasantha Krishna Prasad had fought political battles. And, he said both of them always strive hard for cadre and also people.
