Former MLA and BJP Medak Lok Sabha candidate M Raghunandan Rao has demanded to register a case and immediately arrest BRS MLC and its Medak Lok Sabha candidate Venkatrami Reddy, in view of severe allegations of his involvement in key crimes.
Submitting a memorandum to the DGP Ravi Guptha, he recalled that former DSP Radhakishan Rao, who was arrested in the Phone Tapping case has admitted Venkatrami Reddy’s role in it. He said Radhakishan also claimed that Rs 3 crore related to Venkatrami Reddy was transferred during the last assembly elections.
Raghunandan Rao explained that police officer Radhakishan Rao, who was arrested in the FIR 243/2024 case registered by the police, had stated in his statement on March 9 that he was a close friend of BRS leader Venkatram Reddy.
Moreover, Radhakishan Rao recalled in his testimony, Venkatram Reddy and his brothers, who are the owners of RajaPushpa Constructions, transported the money collected from businessmen in government vehicles through SI. He said that SI Saikiran also gave a statement about the same.
Raghunandan Rao stated that all these details have been attached to the complaint submitted to the DGP. Based on the evidence of Radhakishan Rao and SI Saikiran, the BJP leader asked the DGP to examine the statements and register a case against Venkatrami Reddy and take action.
He deplored that besides several vital pieces of evidence, the police did not take any action against him till now. Why are you protecting him? Who is protecting him?, he asked.
He said Venkatrami Reddy, who is a relative of minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, should be arrested or Chief Minister Revanth Reddy should respond on the issue. He alleged that the Chief Minister is protecting Venkatrami Reddy by saying that their caste was the same. He said the DGP responded positively to his complaint.
