The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has complained Election Commission of India (ECI) on large scale violence resorted by ruling YCP goons during polling in the state on Monday to prevent smooth voting by terrorizing voters.

BJP alleged that sensing anti-incumbency and fear of defeat ruling party has created hurdles at many polling stations so that to prevent large scale polling. At several places voters were also attacked. BJP said that at many places YSP conspired to capture polling booths and resorted to kidnap of polling agents of political opponents and created a fear among voters  through anarchy, hooliganism and violence.

BJP deplored that though people came to vote in large numbers and stood in huge queues were unable to exercise their right to vote due to YCP anarchy and violence. The videos and photos coming from Andhra Pradesh are heartbreaking, it said.

Referring to the terror created in the Palnadu incident, BJP said more than 10 incidents of violence had taken place.  Many polling booths were bloodied as YCP goons lathi-charged voters at the polling centers in the presence of the police. BJP said that police remained silent spectators in Narasaraopet and other places.

BJP detailed that YCP MLA threatened polling agents in Tadipatri, polling booths were taken over in Darshi and Yerragondapalem of Prakasam district and Gondu Shankar was attacked by YCP goons when he was visiting polling stations in Srikakulam district.
