BJP candidate Anji Reddy Is Leading In Karimnagar Graduates MLC Election

Monday, December 8, 2025

The counting of votes for the Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad and Medak graduate seats  is continuing for the third day. BJP candidate Anji Reddy got a lead of 5,110 votes in the first priority vote. He got 75,675 votes in the first priority votes, while Congress candidate Narender Reddy got 70,565 votes. BSP candidate Prasanna Harikrishna got 60,419 votes.

Since no one in the first priority votes reached the minimum 50 percent votes, the second priority votes will decide the result. The total valid votes in the graduate MLC elections were 2,23,343, while the total invalid votes were 28,686 votes. The second priority votes are being counted as the result of the first priority votes was not clear.

So far, 23 people have been eliminated from the contest through elimination. Out of the 56 candidates in the race for the graduate election, only 17,244 votes were received by 53 candidates, so even after their elimination process is completed, the result will not be announced. With this, the second preference votes cast by Prasanna Harikrishna, who is in third place, will decide the result of the MLC election.

Officials have found that the highest number of second preference votes were cast for Prasanna Harikrishna, but since he is in third place, he will also be eliminated. The final result will be decided by the second preference votes cast by Prasanna Hariprasad. If the second preference votes cast for Prasanna Harikrishna go to BJP, Anji Reddy and if it goes to Congress, Narender Reddy are likely to win.

Meanwhile, in the results of the teacher quota MLC contest, BJP candidate Malla Komuraiah won as Karimnagar-Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad Teachers MLC. Sripal Reddy won as Nalgonda-Khammam-Warangal Teachers MLC against his rivals Alugubelli Narsi Reddy and Harshavardhan Reddy. In the counting of the first preference votes, no one got the magic figure. With this, the officials started the elimination process. Sripal Reddy won against sitting MLC Narsi Reddy with second preference votes.
