BJP and BRS MPs did not attend the Telangana MPs’ meeting held at Praja Bhavan on Saturday under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka to discuss the funds and guarantees due to the state. Only Congress and AIMIM MPs attended.
On this occasion, a total of 28 issues were discussed and proposals were formulated to be sent to the Center. Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka called for everyone to unite for the interests of Telangana State. He said that the meeting with the MPs was organized with high sentiments, stating that we should meet the Central Government and explain our problems.
He said that we have to fight for the funds due from the Center. Majlis Party chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi also attended this meeting. The bills pending at the Center were discussed in this meeting. Bhatti said that a PowerPoint presentation was given on the pending issues.
Bhatti Vikramarka invited all BJP MPs to this meeting, including Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar. However, Kishan Reddy replied that there was no time to discuss the matter in the party as the letter from the state government was received late and that he could not attend as he had already committed many official programmes.
Similarly, the BRS party also said that it was unable to attend as it had called a sudden meeting and that if such a meeting were to be held again, it should be informed in advance. Kishan Reddy clarified on this occasion that the Centre is committed to the development of Telangana, stating that if a meeting is to be held in the future, it can be informed in advance.
The identified 28 issues include Approval for Regional Ring Road, Development of Radial Roads from ORR to RRR, Phase II of Metro, Musi Riverfront Development Project, Development of Bepu Ghat as Gandhi Sarovar, Godavari-Musi River Link Project, Sewerage Master Plan for Hyderabad and Warangal Underground Drainage Plan.
Other issues are Greenfield Highway from Bandar Port to Dry Port near Hyderabad, Allocation of Coal Blocks for SCCL, Semiconductor Mission, IPS Cadre Review, Sanction of Schemes under PSDF, Allocation under PM Kusum-A, B, C, Mining Lease of Tadicherla Coal Block-II and Debt Restructuring of Various Corporations/SPVs.
Request for Repayment of Amount Due to GOTG with Applicable Inter, Request for Release of Grant Due to GoTG under AP Reorganization Act, CSS Funds for the Financial Year 2014-15 Request to correct the error in the release Request to transfer funds for Telangana’s share in AP Building, Integrated steel plant in Khammam and improve road connectivity in backward areas also discussed.
Establishment of Kakatiya Mega Textile Park under PM Mitra Park Scheme and Establishment of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in uncovered districts also figured.
