While YCP mobs are getting agitated during the Pulivendula and Ontimitta ZPTC elections and allegedly are trying their best to stop voters, even resorting to attacks to this extent, YCP MP YS Avinash Reddy alleged large-scale electoral malpractices, booth capturing and voter intimidation have rendered the election process unfair.
Besides the allegations of YCP goons attacked TDP activists in Pulivendula and assaulted TDP workers who were going from Kanepalle to Atchavelli to vote, Avinash Reddy has demanded that the ongoing ZPTC by-election in Pulivendula be cancelled and re-conducted under the supervision of central police forces.
Staging a dharna at the Four Roads Circle in Yerraguntla, Avinash Reddy accused TDP MLAs Chaitanya Reddy, BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy, and B.Tech Ravi of orchestrating rigging by bringing in workers from other constituencies, particularly Jammalamadugu. Displaying video evidence, he identified several individuals allegedly involved in casting fake votes at the Nallapureddypalli polling booth, claiming they were transported from Jammalamadugu by Adinarayana Reddy in an attempt to subvert democracy.
Those named include Mallikarjun (TDP Farmers’ State Secretary and Jammalamadugu Market Yard Vice Chairman, Ponathota), Pullareddy (TDP Sarpanch, Karmalavaripalle), Pathakunta Shivareddy (Gudemcheruvu), Ramachandrayya (Chinna Dandluru), Rajanna (Kalavatala), Kulayi (Kambaladenne), Rajagopal (Bheemagundam), Marri Prakasam (Nawabupeta), Sannapureddy Ramaswami Reddy (Nawabupeta), and Dwarakacharla Janardhan Reddy (Nawabupeta).
He criticised the Election Commission for ignoring repeated YSRCP appeals to curb these violations and demanded immediate action to protect the people’s mandate in Pulivendula and Ontimitta. The YSRCP vowed to intensify protests until a fair and transparent re-poll is ensured under the watch of neutral central forces.
Moreover, YCP goons destroyed cars while shouting to vote in favor of TDP. This caused extreme panic among voters. On the other hand, there was extreme tension in Chintarajupalle and Rachapalle in Ontimitta. There was a clash between YCP and TDP workers at the Chintarajupalle polling booth. A heated argument broke out between TDP and YSRCP agents at the booth.
An argument also broke out between the police and locals in Kannampally. The locals expressed anger at the police, saying that outsiders had entered the polling stations.
