Hyderabad: BJP leader and Union Minister Bandi Sanjay has issued a challenge to Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Kodangal. This statement came in response to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s assertion that Owaisi would be fielded from Kodangal and appointed as deputy chief minister.
Bandi Sanjay warned that if Owaisi runs for the Kodangal seat, he would not be able to secure even his deposit. “MIM is like a party perched on the fence, frequently aligning with whichever party is in power,” he said.
He expressed confidence that the BJP will form the government in Telangana. Addressing the Ramzan festival in Hyderabad, Bandi Sanjay claimed the government sanctioned Rs 5 lakh for the event, but alleged that Rs 33 crore was actually allocated. He promised that if the BJP comes to power, the Bhagyalakshmi Temple in the Old City will be converted into a golden temple.
