Hyderabad: Shamshabad International Airport in Hyderabad marked Aviation Safety Week today, with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu in attendance.
During the event, Minister Rammohan Naidu highlighted the pivotal role of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in the airport’s establishment. He credited Chandrababu’s vision for the international recognition that Shamshabad Airport now enjoys.
“At the time of its inception, there was criticism over the amount of land allocated for the airport. Today, it’s evident how much prestige this airport has brought to the region,” Rammohan Naidu stated. He also mentioned that the possibility of setting up new airports in Telangana is under consideration.
As part of the celebrations, Rammohan Naidu participated in a tree-planting ceremony at the airport. He emphasized the importance of environmental conservation, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for widespread tree planting initiatives across the country.
